A Detailed month-by-month roadmap to help you prepare for the SSC CHSL 2026–27 exam step-by-step.


This plan assumes the exam will be conducted around June–July 2027 (typical SSC timeline). You have around 1.5 years — plenty of time to prepare smartly and steadily.

📘 PHASE 1: FOUNDATION BUILDING (Nov 2025 – Apr 2026)

🎯 Goal:

Build strong conceptual understanding in English, Maths, Reasoning, and General Awareness.


🗓️ Month 1–2 (Nov–Dec 2025): Start with Basics

Focus: Fundamentals of English, Arithmetic Maths, and Static GK

English

  • Grammar basics: Parts of speech, tenses, subject–verb agreement, articles, prepositions.
  • Read Plinth to Paramount or Wren & Martin.
  • Start daily vocabulary (10 words/day).

Maths

  • Number System, Simplification, HCF/LCM, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Averages.
  • Book: RS Aggarwal or Rakesh Yadav Class Notes.
  • Practice 20–30 questions daily.

Reasoning

  • Topics: Analogy, Coding-Decoding, Classification, Blood Relation, Direction Sense.
  • Book: Lucent’s Reasoning or Rakesh Yadav Reasoning Book.

GK

  • Start with Lucent’s GK (History, Polity, Geography basics).
  • Daily current affairs (from a monthly magazine or app).

🗓️ Month 3–4 (Jan–Feb 2026): Concept Expansion

English

  • Learn Active–Passive Voice, Direct–Indirect Speech, Sentence Correction.
  • Practice 1 comprehension and 1 cloze test daily.

Maths

  • Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Time–Work, Time–Distance.
  • Start Geometry & Mensuration basics.

Reasoning

  • Focus on Series, Syllogism, Puzzles, Venn Diagram.

GK

  • Polity: Indian Constitution (Preamble, Fundamental Rights, DPSP).
  • Current Affairs (last 3 months) + Static GK revision.

🗓️ Month 5–6 (Mar–Apr 2026): Strengthen & Revise

English

  • Revise grammar rules.
  • Practice 2 mock tests per week (only English section).

Maths

  • Advanced topics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry (circles, angles, lines), Data Interpretation.
  • Make a formula notebook for quick revision.

Reasoning

  • Practice mixed sets (verbal + non-verbal).
  • Start solving puzzles from mock tests.

GK

  • Revise Static GK + prepare short notes for one-liners (capitals, books, awards, days).
  • Monthly current affairs summaries.

By end of April 2026:
You should have finished the syllabus once and made your personal notes.


⚙️ PHASE 2: PRACTICE & SPEED BUILDING (May – Oct 2026)

🎯 Goal:

Develop speed, accuracy, and real exam temperament through practice and analysis.


🗓️ Month 7–8 (May–Jun 2026): Intensive Practice Begins

  • Start sectional tests for each subject.
  • Take 1 full mock test every week.
  • Identify weak topics from mock analysis.

English: Focus on error spotting, fill-in-the-blanks, and reading comprehension.
Maths: Daily topic-wise timed practice (30 mins).
Reasoning: Solve previous year reasoning questions.
GK: Revise Lucent’s + Current Affairs (Jan–May 2026).


🗓️ Month 9–10 (Jul–Aug 2026): Full-Length Mock Tests
