🧾 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university is mandatory for all Inspector-level posts.  

2. Age Limit

    • Inspector (CBN): 20–30 years
    • Inspector (Posts): 18–30 years
    • Sub-Inspector (CBI): 20–30 years
    • Sub-Inspector (NIA): 20–30 years
    • Assistant Enforcement Officer: Up to 30 years
    • Inspector (Income Tax, Excise, etc.): 18–30 years 
  • Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.  

3. Physical Standards

Certain posts, such as Inspector (Central Bureau of Narcotics) and Sub-Inspector (CBI), require candidates to meet specific physical standards, including:

  • Height: Minimum 157.5 cm for males; 152 cm for females
  • Chest (for males): 81 cm (with a minimum expansion of 5 cm)
  • Weight (for females): Minimum 48 kg 
Physical tests may include walking and cycling assessments.  


📝 Application Process

1. Registration

  • Visit the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in
  • Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) by providing basic details.  

2. Application Form

  • Log in using your registration credentials. 
  • Fill out the application form, selecting your desired posts and preferences.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified format.

3. Application Fee

  • Pay the application fee online. Fee exemptions are available for certain categories. 

4. Aadhaar-Based Verification (Optional)

  • Opting for Aadhaar-based verification can streamline the verification process, reducing the need for multiple documents and expediting entry at examination centers. 

🧪 Selection Process

1. Tier-I Examination

Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering:
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning
    • General Awareness
    • Quantitative Aptitude
    • English Comprehension

2. Tier-II Examination

CBT comprising:
    • Paper-I: Compulsory for all candidates
    • Paper-II: Specific to candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II posts 

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination

  • Applicable for certain posts like Sub-Inspector (CBI) and Inspector (CBN).
  • Includes physical tests (e.g., walking, cycling) and medical standards assessment. 

4. Document Verification

  • Shortlisted candidates must present original documents to verify eligibility criteria.
